Obituary

Abner Jerome Brown passed away peacefully Tuesday March 26 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Jacqueline Rose Brown. Loving father to Alan and Sue Wolan, Steven and Linda Wolan and Lauren and Rick Zak. Proud grandfather of 6, great grandfather of 2 and dearest uncle to many nieces and nephews. Abner was born June 21, 1920 to the late Joseph and Bessie Brown. He was the youngest of 9 children. He proudly served his country in WW II. Abner loved family, good wine and Da Bears. He will be missed by many. Synogogue service Friday March 29, at 1:00 PM at North Shore Congregation Israel, 1185 Sheridan Road in Glencoe. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Our fondest memories of Abner are, most likely, like those of many others. We loved his humor, his intelligence, and his warm humanity. He always made you feel good about who you were, and the twinkle in his eye was there for all to see. He was a man of many talents and a man you looked up to, admired, and so enjoyed being around. We wish his family comfort in the days ahead as you navigate through your loss. Please know you have all been blessed by having Abner in your lives.

We were out of town when Abner died, and am sorry we were not here to mourn his passing and to celebrate his life with each of you.

Take comfort in the memory of him.
